Playing high-energy cover material since sometime around 1992, Spoke is comprised of experienced, professional musicians. All members have previously been full-time musicians, performing with both touring and studio acts.

The "Spoke" project was created to keep the fun in the music. When depending on dates and contracts to make a living, the music easily becomes work. By working in Spoke as a weekend project, a lot of stress is removed from the picture. The band is able to enjoy the music as much as the audience. With no aspirations to "Rock Stardom", this band will not attempt to unload sub-standard original material on unsuspecting audiences. Spoke simply provide a quality, energetic mix of Top 40, 80's Retro, and New Alternative music.

Accept No Substitutes: Do not be misled by acts claiming to be the 'evolution of Spoke', or to have been 'formerly known as Spoke', or the like. Spoke has been functioning continuiously for over a decade now. Simply bear in mind that immitation is the highest form of flattery!

Carl Mart - Guitar

Carl has been the guiding force behind Spoke from the band's inception in 1992, since deciding to pull away from the stereotypical 80's heavy metal genre. Carl also performs with the U2 tribute act Rattle and Hum as "Edge". He has also toured and recorded with local original acts such as Wicked Kick, Diet Grease Machine, and The Last Promise.
